About Cirrus SR22

Wisconsin brothers Dale and Alan Klapmeier started building kit airplanes, but soon recognized that the real market was for a new-generation mainstream-certificated airplane. In 1995, they announced, with much fanfare, that they were going to produce just such an airplane. The Cirrus SR22 has an extensive history of innovation and guaranteeing pilots and passengers exceptional performance, style, comfort, and safety within private aviation through its SR Series of single-engine aircraft
In 2000, Cirrus received a Type Certificate for a composite aircraft powered by a piston engine still but with a larger fuel capacity and wing. In addition, a more powerful engine the Continental IO-550-N helped make the SR22 the best-selling general aviation airplane within two years.
Cirrus SR22 is known for many firsts in general aviation such as the side-yoke flight controls, Enhanced Take-off and Safe Return, Auto-Throttle, and complete glass cockpit in the SR Series. Experience improved hot and high take-off performance with reduced take-off distance.
The most significant addition to the Cirrus SR22 that gave it a big edge over all other single-engine piston aircraft is the addition of the parachute system. A strong desire to redefine safety in the aviation industry embolded Cirrus Aircraft to design and introduce the revolutionary Cirrus Airframe Parachute System® (CAPS®). What started with the Cirrus SR20 quickly was adapted to the SR22 Cirrus and all Cirrus.
As of January 2024 Cirrus Aircraft has produced 7 versions the latest being the SR22T G7
